If you love bagels or are on L Street a lot, you probably watched the empy space left by Starbuck languish for a few months, only to be replaced by an invitingly well-lit and plush coffee place. Bourbon Coffee specializes in Rwandan coffee, and they were featured in a nice write-up in the Washington Post.
Jill Biden was spotted out with a friend at the Westend Bistro, which is apparently constantly star-studded.
In older news (sorry to miss this), Foggy Bottom is apparently warring with the city over the fate of the Stevens School property (I was rooting for Top Chef’s Carla to win the contract). At the beginning of the month, the Examiner had a story detailing opposition to the winning contract plan of an apartment complex. The Hatchet covers the continuing saga today with a post called “City representative skips Stevens School meeting.” In conclusion, no one loves the idea of an apartment building because it means students will live in it.
