It’s a list of lists! Who doesn’t love a good end of the decade round up? And the aughts/oughts/naughties (ugh) were fraught with poor decisions, wars, a couple of ~*~controversial~*~ presidential elections, some firsts, and a recession. Compiled is a list of my favorite retrospective lists, that help us remember the worst of either the 00s or just 2009. Maybe some of the best, too. 01. The Worst Fictional Dudes of the Decade [Jezebel.com] – I was always on Team Jess re: Gilmore Girls, anyway. Also, Garden State sucks. It’s good the first time you watch it, and with every subsequant viewing you hate Zach Braff more and more.

02. The Top Ten Everything of 2009 [Time.com] – Time compiles 50 (!) lists of the best of everything for you, including best animal stories!

03. Best New Restaurants of the Decade: Washington D.C. [ZagatBuzz] – For the foodies (hope y’all have been making Restaurant Week reservations), Zagat ranks their favorite new offerings of the 00s. Spoiler Alert: None of them are in FoBo.

04. Top Ten Worst Things of the Decade [fansided.com] – Nickelback.

05. The Worst Dresses of the Decade [HuffPo] – J-Lo is the gift that keeps on giving.

06. The Fifty Worst Songs of the Decade [Village Voice] – Dear readers, I don’t think there are words to describe the rage that fills me when I hear the Counting Crows cover of Joni Mitchell’s Big Yellow Taxi, and this list makes me feel like I’m not alone. Seriously though, fuck that song. However, Toby Keith’s Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue is a genius work of art, so I don’t agree whole-heartedly with it.

07. Documenting the Decade [NYTs] – The New York Times presents a decade of reader photos. A former FoBo resident’s photo from 2006 is featured.

08. The 10 Worst Things About the Worst Decade Ever [Time.com] – If you imagine Comic Book Guy reading the captions it’s even more delicious.

09. The 50 Best Films of the 00s [Onion AV Club] – You can also try Paste Magazine’s list if this one doesn’t quite do it for you. Roger Ebert’s list is also quite though provoking, crowning Synecdoche, New York, the decade’s best.

10. 100 Best Albums of the Decade [Rolling Stone] – Oh boy, Kid A!
