All Comics, All Weekend – SPX & Damn Cartoons, plus DC’s Big Flea, DC Shorts

Man it’s been a while since I did a weekend round-up, huh? But there’s so much happening this weekend (all though not all of it is in FoBo).

  • To start, today is the first day of Damn Cartoons at GWU, a convention full of Pulitzer Prize winning political cartoonist that includes a cartoon death match on Friday.
  • Saturday and Sunday have even more comics-y goodness for you in Bethesda at the Small Press Expo, with special guests Chris Ware and Daniel Clowes, and Gilbert & Jaime Hernandez. If you’re interested in stalking me, I’ll be kicking around the convention.
  • Saturday is also the night of the Closing Party for DC Shorts Film Festival, and this weekend is the last weekend to catch ~the best of the fest~.
  • If you’re not into cartoons or comics OR EVEN SHORT FILMS but are into food and dancing and folk art, then the H St. Festival, which will run from noon to seven pm on Saturday, is where you should be at.
  • And if you’re looking to head out of town, DC’s Big Flea is happening in Chantilly, VA. You can pretty much get anything there, I hear.
